Alistair has more than 26 years of experience leading and managing change as a corporate executive and consultant, including involvement with startups, mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, takeovers, bankruptcies, restructurings, and system implementations. He’s worked in various industries, including public sector, defense, retail, manufacturing, financial services, professional services, software, and education. As the Global Strategy Director for Adoption and Change Management at Microsoft, he is accountable for creating a strategic and competitive advantage for Microsoft, customers, and partners through growing an effective core competency in change management.
Alistair has been in Microsoft for 19 years, holding international leadership roles in divisions across the company, while living in various countries around the world. During his career, Alistair has founded and acted as an angel investor to a series of startups, including a mid-size professional services company specializing in management consulting and technical consulting. Alistair graduated from the University of Leicester, United Kingdom with a BSc (Hons) in Mathematics and Computing. He did his graduate studies in Geographical Information Systems and taught at the University of Leicester. Alistair has received a broad set of advanced professional qualifications and awards, including the Association of Change Management Professionals’ (ACMP) Certified Change Management Professional and Microsoft’s top honor from the Chairman and CEO – “Circle of Excellence”. He’s a frequent international public speaker, a master instructor in managing change, and a published author of over 50 magazine articles & 5 best-selling books translated into over a dozen languages.
